Warrior Coaches and Managers,
A special meeting was called together on Tuesday November 25, 2003 at Oakland Yard for 6:30pm to meet with the club's candidate for the Direrctor
position, Sheryl Schreefel. 10 of the club's teams were present for the interview and discussion. The remainder of the club's teams had positively
responded that they could not attend the meeting due to conflicts, but were aware of it.
Meeting started: 6:35pm
In Attendance: 87G (G. Sullivan), 89B (J. Curnutte), 90/92B (M. Nunold), 91G* (H. Schreefel), 93G (R. Schoonover), 94B (M. Krupiak), 94G (L. Loza, G.
Szydlowski), 95B (D. Clauson, M. Leo), 95G (B. Bromund)
* The 91G team did not vote or question the candidate to avoid conflcit of interest.
The club reviewed the candidate's resume and discussed the revised position description for the Director.
Candidate and coaches discussed the current state of the club and heard from Sheryl her views on what direction the club needed to go in, as well as how
we might get there. It was a good discussion that was focused on: 1) Establishing focus and organization for the club, 2) The need for buy-in by
coaches, parents, and the community to improve the organization, 3) Upcoming activities and improving their success, and 4) The need to grow the
organization and improve its reputation in the community. Individual teams posed their questions and received answers. Sheryl posed questions to the
club and received answers.
Of importance, the club agreed that there were still a couple of items that would need to be worked on to help define the path of the Director's
position going forward: 1) Completing the updates to the by-laws, 2) Developing a working schedule of yearly events, seeing how most activities
are cyclic, and 3) Obtaining feedback from the coaches and members at large (players and their families).
When asked, Sheryl said she was still interested in the nomination for the position - requiring a week or two to think about it. The candidate was
dismissed with the thanks of the club for her time. The coaches then placed a motion on the floor to offer Sheryl Schreefel the position of Director of
the Waterford Warriors (R. Schoonover), subject to her accepting the offer.
The motion also carried the stipulation that her first day as Director, if accepted, would be December 15, 2003. Motion was seconded (M.
Krupiak). Motion was carried - unanimously. Mark Krupiak was asked to notify
candidate of the club's offer.
Meeting adjourned: 7:40pm
