Motion brought to floor to nominate Paul Wilkie as Treasurer and Sandra Edwards as Secretary. Motion carried – both people will be up for vote at the next club meeting in October.
Meet the Warriors program will be facilitated by Lex Loza and will be held sometime November, December, January or February. Larry Carpenter to help Lex run this program at the Oakland Yard. Lex and Larry could use some help with this endeavor.
Larry Jacobs to update bylaws and get them registered with leagues.
Web site is down at this time – Lex Loza to take over as coordinator and will be getting site up to date and paid for as soon as possible.
It was brought to our attention that the Elk’s lodge cones are not being put back in place once the teams are through practicing. We were reminded again that garbage was to be picked up and that no one should be in the pavilion at any time. It was reported that children where running on the tables and throwing balls on the roofs. Please remind all the families that when they are at the Elk’s they need to keep all children “under control”.
Mark Krupiak will coordinate a plaque for the Elk’s to thank them for their continued support for the Warrior’s. Also a motion was placed and carried for a $250 donation to one of the Elk’s charities for recognition of their continued support of the Warriors.
Uniforms are being discontinued at the end of the Spring Season. Lex is asking for new ideas for the uniforms and for volunteers to set on this committee. It was thought that some of the team managers or parents would like to help with these decisions and would like to sit on this committee.
Lex asked that all coaches – managers, etc. information be updated to him as soon as possible so that he can keep the contact sheet current.
It was brought to our attention that a Parks and Rec. representative should be at all club meetings.
Mark Krupiak and Lex Loza met with Parks and Rec. on 9/8 for an open discussion regarding the warriors and their needs for spring soccer. Attached are the meeting minutes from that meeting. Also, a letter was written to the Parks and Rec. regarding those needs. A motion was placed and approved to send the letter to the Parks and Rec. A copy of that is also attached to these minutes.
Goals at the Elk’s lodge need to be taken back to the Parks and Rec. It was recommended that a Letter of Liability will be completed and signed by a member of the Parks and Rec. It was suggested that Dave Block might be able to help return the goals with his truck/trailer.
Parks and Rec. has offered space in their brochure for the Warriors to run an ad for June try outs. They need the layout by November or December. Hellmuth has volunteered to do the art work and Lex Loza volunteered to create the ad.
Parks and Rec. has offered to create a facilities usage contract for the Warriors Club to review. This will create an environment so that our club will not be charged a fee to use Waterford Schools’ fields. This contract should be available for our review at the next meeting.
Krupiak has asked the Parks and Rec. to allow the Waterford Warriors to construct a wooden sign and place it at the Parks and Rec. fields. Hellmuth has volunteered to create the draft and actual sign once approved by the Warriors and the Parks and Rec.
