2004 SoccerZone Spring Break 3v3 Tournament

On April 16, 2004 the Waterford Lady Warriors entered 2 teams into the annual SoccerZone Spring Break 3v3 tournament.  Both teams played a lot of great soccer on this day.  The Black and Red teams defeated first class opponents in the Michigan Gatros, GSSC (Genesse Stars), and Davison (Pink Panthers) to reach the finals.  An all-Warriors finals.  The Lady Warriors captured the 1st and 2nd place awards for the tournament to claim their first 3v3 tournament wins.

Breakdown of some of the rules:

• Games are 25 minutes.  Guaranteed 3 game minimum.

• 3 players on field, no goalkeepers.

• Sub on the fly, players enter from midfield.

• All kicks are direct.  Kick-ins not throw-ins.  

• 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, no points for a loss.  Teams with most points in their flight move on to championship rounds.  Awards for champions and finalists. 

• Cannot touch ball within the goal-box.  If you touch in your own box - opponent gets a free kick at the goal.  If you touch in your opponent's box - they get a goal kick.
