The '94 and '95 Lady Warrior teams traveled to Rochester, Michigan on Sunday October 5, 2003 to enjoy a good meal at BD's Mongolian Barbeque, followed by a great collegiate soccer match.  The Oakland University women's team, the Golden Grizzlies, defeated their mid-Continent conference rivals the Cincinnati Bearcats 5-1 during the match.   Read about the match here.

The Lady Warriors were enthusiastically welcomed by the Oakland University players and staff.  During the game the teams names were announced over the loudspeaker system, our club name was flashed on the scoreboard, and the players were treated to a "Meet the Golden Grizzlies" session where they got autographs and pictures with all of the great athletes.  Visit the OU Women's team here.

During the game, the Lady Warriors happened upon a chance meeting with Anita Rapp, forward for the Norway national team that scored in the 47th minute of the opening game of the FIFA Women's World Cup on September 20, 2003 versus France.  Her flicked header, the first goal in the 2003 World Cup, helped propel the Norwegians into the next round where they were defeated by the United States national team.  Anita, who wears #9, was very happy to sign autographs for the girls who really enjoyed the encounter.  Learn more about Anita from her FIFA Profile

See our pictures below.  Thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable event.  Go Warriors!
